Snow again causes school closures in foothills

SACRAMENTO, CA - Winter weather in the Sierra Nevada prompted several schools to close or have delayed start times Thursday.

The following schools and school districts were closed Thursday due to snow:

- Sierra College's satellite campuses in Nevada County and Truckee. The main campus in Rocklin is open.

- Nevada Joint Union High School District  

- The Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District

- Blac Oak Mine School District in El Dorado County

- Pollocks Pines Elementary School District

- Camino Union School District

- Foresthill High School and Grizzly Hill Elementary School 

The following schools and school districts have delayed their start times:

- El Dorado High School in Placerville and Union Mine High School in El Dorado will both have two-hour delayed start times.

- Placer Hills Union School District schools have two-hour delayed start times.

- Gold Oaks Union School District schools will have one-hour start delays.
