Possible propane leak forces evacuations in Alta | News
PLACER COUNTY, CA - A possible propane leak, near the town of Alta, forced the evacuation of 15 people from a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility Monday night.
A woman and her baby at the Progress Center, on 23400 Towle Road, went to a nearby hospital around 6:30 p.m. when they started feeling sick, Cal Fire said.
Cal Fire was called to the center two hours later, after other people in the neighborhood reported feeling dizzy and sick.
The evacuees are at a local community church as firefighters investigate the possible leak.
