Gold River resident trapped in snow dies | News
LAKE TAHOE, CA - A Gold River man died in a skiing accident at Sierra at Tahoe resort Sunday, says the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.
Yiwei Hu, 54, fell into a deep hole in the snow that was formed by running water underneath, according to Lt. Tim Becker.
Other skiers found Hu near the Castle ski run in an expert ski area around 1:30 p.m. When Ski Patrol rescuers arrived, Hu was not breathing, Becker said, and rescue efforts couldn't revive him.
